2019 Middle School Baseball

We are happy to announce that we have set the tryout for Sunday, 1/27/19 at the Kennedy Fieldhouse. The Waltham Wildcats, open to Kennedy students, is coached by Pat Hart and Bill Hanley, and the Waltham Mustangs, open to McDevitt students, is coached by Ryan Scafidi and Steve Laforest. To allow everyone to cheer on the Patriots, we have canceled this Sunday's 1pm session and will hold tryouts on 1/27/19.  Kennedy will work out from 1-245pm and McDevitt from 315-5pm. Tryout attendance is mandatory. Dress to play baseball, wear sneakers, and bring all necessary equipment for your position. Waltham resident students who attend private middle schools are welcome to attend either tryout.

There will be a cost to participte in this program, but we are soliciting sponors, so we don't have the final figure. Last season's cost was $200 per player and included shirt and hat, game balls, umpiring and league/insurance fees. I expect this season to be less. The league is competitive travel, with no buses, so transportation will have to be provided by parents and families. Teams are not affiliated with the schools, but are part of the Eastern Mass Independent Baseball League. If you have any questions, please let me, or an applicable manager, know.

Bill Hanley, President, Waltham Youth Baseball

Pat Hart, Wildcats Manager,

Ryan Scafidi, Mustangs Manager,
